The governing body play an important role in the strategic direction of the school.  Their role includes:

• Setting the school’s vision, values and long-term priorities, rooted in our community and children’s needs.

• Monitoring and evaluating the impact of the School Improvement Plan, using visits, data, and discussions with pupils and staff.

• Hold leaders to account for educational standards, inclusion, safeguarding and the effective use of resources.

• Overseeing financial and resource management, ensuring funding, including pupil premium and sports premium, improves outcomes for all learners.

• Assuring safeguarding practice, ensuring statutory duties are met, culture is positive, and the Single Central Record is reviewed regularly.

• Championing inclusion, ensuring high expectations and effective support for disadvantaged pupils, those with SEND and others facing barriers.

• Promoting staff well-being and professional learning, recognising that the quality of teaching and care underpins success.

• Engaging with parents, carers and the wider community, gathering views and celebrating our pupils’ achievements.

• Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and professional integrity, reflecting on our own performance and impact.

Through this work, the Governing Body provides clear strategic direction, strong accountability and visible support for the whole school. Together, we aim to secure outstanding experiences and outcomes for every child.
