Pupil Premium
Helping Every Child Flourish
At Wootton St Andrew’s CE Primary School, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to achieve their full potential and flourish academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.
Rooted in our vision, “journeying together in the light go Love, Joy, Courage and Trust,” we are committed to ensuring that all pupils, regardless of background or circumstance, receive the support, opportunities and encouragement they need to succeed.
What is Pupil Premium?
Pupil Premium is additional funding provided by the Government to improve outcomes for disadvantaged pupils.
Funding is allocated for children who:
- Are currently eligible for Free School Meals (FSM).
- Have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point in the last six years.
- Are looked after by a local authority.
- Have previously been looked after by a local authority.
The funding enables schools to provide targeted support and opportunities that help children achieve their very best.

Our Approach
At Wootton St Andrew’s, we carefully plan how Pupil Premium funding is used to ensure it has the greatest possible impact on children’s outcomes and wellbeing. Guided by our vision, “Rooted in The Wootton Way, journeying together in the light of Love, Joy, Courage and Trust,” we are committed to removing barriers to learning and ensuring that all pupils can thrive.
Our approach focuses on four key areas:
- Improving academic progress and attainment through high-quality teaching, targeted interventions and personalised support.
- Providing additional resources and enrichment opportunities that broaden experiences, enhance the curriculum and inspire learning.
- Supporting emotional wellbeing and personal development through pastoral care, nurture, mentoring and access to specialist support where needed.
- Removing barriers to participation and success by helping pupils access educational visits, extracurricular activities, learning resources and wider opportunities that enrich school life.
We regularly review the impact of our provision to ensure that funding is making a meaningful difference and helping every child to learn, grow and flourish.
Free School Meals
If you think your child may be eligible for Free School Meals, we encourage you to apply.
Even if your child receives Universal Infant Free School Meals (Reception, Year 1 and Year 2), registering may provide additional funding that directly benefits their education.
All enquiries are handled sensitively and confidentially.
