At Wootton St Andrew’s CE (VA) Primary School, we believe that physical education, school sport and physical activity are essential in helping children lead healthy, happy and active lives. Through high-quality teaching and a wide range of sporting opportunities, we encourage every child to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a lifelong love of being active, whilst living out our values of Love, Joy, Courage and Trust.

The Primary PE and Sport Premium is additional Government funding provided to primary schools to improve the quality of physical education, physical activity and sport. The funding is intended to create sustainable improvements that benefit both current and future pupils by enhancing teaching, increasing participation and promoting healthy lifestyles.

We use our PE and Sport Premium funding to strengthen our PE curriculum, develop staff expertise, provide specialist coaching, increase opportunities for competitive sport, broaden the range of physical activities available to our pupils and ensure that every child can participate and succeed. Our aim is to inspire all children to enjoy being active, regardless of their starting point or ability.
